Godavari Indian Restaurant: Authentic Indian Cuisine in Eden Prairie

The most authentic Indian restaurant in the twin cities that I visited. The food was delicious with an amazing variety of both veg and non-veg options. It was lunchtime and the restaurant was very busy and noisy, but we got a very nice table in the corner with a good view and access to food. The staff was friendly and made sure the food trays were full. I will definitely visit again and will also recommend to friends and family.

Incredible Mother’s Day Buffet at Godavari – Eden Prairie! We visited the Godavari today with our family for the Mother’s Day special buffet, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish! The buffet menu was extensive and packed with flavorful, authentic Indian dishes. My personal favorite was the Thalapakatti Mutton Biriyani—made with fragrant Jeeragasamba rice and tender, juicy mutton pieces. It was rich, flavorful, and absolutely outstanding! The starters were also delicious—especially the Chicken 65, Chicken Majestic, and Tawa Fish. Our kids loved the Chicken 65 and Chicken Dhum Biriyani—definitely a kid-friendly spot as well. The dessert section was another highlight. The Chef’s Special Badam Halwa was rich and indulgent, and the rose-milk was refreshing—perfect way to end the meal. Highly recommend Godavari if you’re looking for authentic Indian flavors and a festive dining experience. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Hyderabadi chicken dum biryani - medium ulavacharu is good. One biryani definitely can eat two persons.

Awesome food . My elder daughter’s favorite place, she visited Minneapolis after 4 months and her first wish list is to have Biryani , Paneer sizzler and Babycorn Manchurian .They never disappoint us ..thanks for the hospitality and tasty food .

Just love this place. Never disappoints.Today we got Chicken Curry And Garlic Naan(my Fav.. recommended). Both met my level of expectations like always. I know i can count on you guys on customer satisfactions/expectations.

As someone who has visited India the south of India, I can say that the food at Godavari definitely tastes authentic. I visited the Eden Prairie location for the first time this January 2025 and left very satisfied. The food portions are very generous, friendly staff and quick service. The building was also very clean and well taken care of. We ordered a few dishes without knowing we were going to get so much food. So we ended up taking a lot home, the staff thought we didn’t like it but we made sure to let them know it was very good! I’ll definitely be coming back!

I had a good experience at this restaurant. The butter chicken was rich and flavorful, and the garlic butter naan was soft and tasty perfect with the curries. The chicken korma had a nice, mild flavor and was cooked well. Overall, the food was fresh and enjoyable. I’d definitely come back again.

I liked their Minneapolis branch better than Jersey city. Tried almost all kinds of dishes from idly, dosa, cut mirchi, pomfret fry to biryanis. Idly was ok not that great. Pomfret fry was really good. One of the few restaurants which serve good hyderabadi biryani. But the wait time is too long for the take away
